Nylon Carpet Waste
From Nylon carpet waste a wide range of products are available that are perfect for a variety of environments and uses. A composite material, made of recycled nylon carpet and polypropylene, was developed as a product to be superior to wood and plastic products that can rot, deteriorate, be affected by moisture, or cause mold problems.
These products are formulated from post-consumer and post-industrial carpet and are affordable, waterproof, insect-proof and skid resistant. The production process produces no waste as 100% of the excess material can be reused as feedstock for future products.
This revolutionary patent pending product uses a new technology that includes a mixture of recycled carpet with an extrusion process. First the carpet is identified and separated, then shredded and mixed with other components to make the correct blend. This mixture is then fed into the extruder to make Composite-Nylon products.
Even with a minimal amount of absorption these products will not allow water to pass through or rot as wood sheeting. Unlike some plastics, paint will adhere when an oil-based primer is used first.
Construction Benefits

- Will not warp from moisture or humidity. Dimensions remain true
- Can be easily bonded to other materials for construction flexibility
- Production waste is eliminated
- Holds paint better than wood
- Passed the TCA standards for residential strength and installation procedures.
- Exceeds local building code standards for installation
- Chemical properties make moisture problems, tile adhesion and sheer material weight a thing of the past
- Acts as a vapor barrier
- Accepts screws to within 1/4" from seams without splitting
- Does not produce dust when cut
- Resistant to jobsite damage
- Does not peel or flake
- Impervious to most traditional chemicals
- Insect and rodent proof
- Provides lateral and high-lateral strength
- Reduces installation time by 35 - 45%
- Produces clean, factory seams after cutting
- Accepts traditional fiber tape at seams
- 75% less weight than traditional Backer Board
Environmental Benefits
- Will not leach contaminants in to the soil if placed in a solid waste landfill
- Contains no gypsum, asbestos, fiberglass, silica, or other hazardous materials
- Will not release harmful vapors into the air
- Will not cause respiratory problems
- No formaldehyde is used which eliminates off-gassing and creates improved air quality.
- Plastic is impervious to fungi and unhealthy microspores
- 0% of the production waste enters the landfill waste stream, it’s returned to product feedstock. This eliminates methane and carbon dioxide emissions of wood waste, both significant contributors to global warming
- All scrap waste can be reclamated and returned as feedstock for new products
